Power and water corp. have increased electricity, water and sewerage. Now you need to save power to save money.  With power going up 30% in Darwin, some of us are going to feel the pinch. We’ve all heard the stories on the news from Victoria and New South Wales about the people who cannot afford to pay the utility bills. things are getting more expensive all the time.

To help offset that – LED lighting is the way to go. By replacing your currently installed fluorescent and incandescent light fittings with some LED options supplied and installed by us, you can really make a difference to your power bill. We also offer power analysis as well so your home, office or building can be assessed for total usage, peak loading times, power factor, energy cost just to name a few this can be done over just one day or a week/month for larger installations and the charts provided will highlight current, peak times. LED lighting will save you money in the long term, due to less maintenance, less replacement parts, less power consumed whilst in use and a longer life span.  I would however suggest spending the money for decent products, as you are trying to save money in the long term, not the short term. As we all know if it’s cheap in the short term it is probably not going to last in the longer term, meaning more money in replacements.

As an example, we just replaced all the bar lights amongst other things in a hotel in Darwin. As well as a flash LED water feature and a few other floor lights. In this particular bar area, 11 x 50 watt halogen down lights with 12v transformers had been installed. The cost of running these per year from 9am through till midnight for a year is huge. Have a look for yourself.

Now, if we multiply that by the 11 fittings installed the total power usage costs are around $970!! This doesn’t include the maintenance costs in replacing halogen globes frequently or the added heat to the room due to halogens either.

The same calculation when put to the 6watt LED dimmable fittings shows a huge difference in the back pocket.

$10.58

Multiply $10.58 by 11 fittings and you have a total approx energy cost of $116.00 (these prices are BEFORE the 30% increase comes into effect, you will save a higher percentage of money then)

Thats a total saving of $854.00!!

Since installing these in one area, most of the exterior lighting, bar lighting and floor lighting is being converted to LED. The savings will speak for volumes over the next few years.  Try it for yourself or call us for more information. Your wallet will thank you for it.
